Welcome to the portal page for the language group of subjects 

Since September 2010, a new organisation has been established to co-ordinate support for both primary and post-primary teachers.  Under the Professional Development Service for Teachers, support will continue to be offered to teachers of language.  This support is intended to:

• Support communities of practice and professional networks
• Promote peer-led CPD
• Faciliate the sharing of insights and classroom strategies
• Support a dynamic conception of learning and teaching
• Encourage a culture of practice-based research and innovation
• Foster critical dialogue on learning and teaching
• Celebrate teachers' creativy and competence
• Enhance the learning experience of students

The PDST is currently engaged in a number of school-based projects.  Over the coming months we will publish ideas and resources arising from these projects.  We hope you enjoy browsing these pages.
